Event Information and Rules

Entry:

The entry fee for this event is $350
• $300 for prize fund
• $50 Administration Fee

Streaming:

This event will be streamed live on social media. As this is a streamed event you as a participant of the event agree to be filmed and/or photographed.
 

Player Profiles:

To help grow the sport and its integrity we will require participants to create player profiles as members of participating teams. Viewers not only enjoy watching matches with good quality commentary, but familiarizing themselves with talented local players.

Substitutions & Rotation:

The reigning Kings are required to accept all challenges on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with a minimum core of two players, otherwise will relinquish the title and next two teams on registered list will play for the title.

 

There will be no substitutions permitted once the match has begun.

 

For scotch doubles and triples, any team member may start at the beginning of each game. For triples, teams must use the same order in which they are listed on the team list to reduce confusion.

Roster Submission:

Rosters and photo of each player must be provided minimum one week prior to scheduled play.
 
THE ROSTER FOR EACH TEAM WILL BE SUBMITTED ON  THE DAY OF THE MATCH. THE REIGNING KINGS WILL SUBMIT THEIR ROSTER FIRST WITH THE CHALLENGERS SUBMITTING IMMEDIATELY AFTER.
 

Availability:

If your team is at the top of the list and you are unable to attend the next scheduled match, you must provide minimum 1 week notice and you will be moved to the next available spot on the schedule.
 
***There will be no refunds***

 

***If you do not provide a minimum of 1 week notice that you are unable to play in your next scheduled match, you will lose half of your entry fee. Which will be put towards the next match as short notice incentive.***
 
If your team is the reigning Kings of the Hill and do not wish to continue, you may relinquish the title with one week notice and the next two available teams will be taken for the challenge. You will still be eligible to receive your $300 ($350 – $50 admin) winnings.

Handicapping:

There is no Fargo cap for teams registering, but there is a minimum requirement of 200 games robustness to be eligible. The handicap has been calculated based on 1 game for each 15 Fargo point difference. No rounding.

 

Please note: There will be a maximum handicap of 28 games. If the Fargo difference is greater than 724 points, no further handicap games will be awarded.
 
•   If a player is unknown and deemed to be under-rated, Challenge Directors reserve the right to assess and remove or re-evaluate the player.

 

•   As this will be an ongoing event, we will do our best to ensure fair and equal play through the handicap and may need to adjust if necessary.

Register to play:

First Paid First Played – The earlier you get your registration fee in, the earlier you will be scheduled to play.
 
Once entry fee has been received, match will be scheduled for next available week. So please ensure all members of your team are available for your assigned date and each scheduled week thereafter. (Weekly/bi-weekly depending on registered list length)

 

• Registration Fee: $350 per team ($50 Streaming & Admin Cost Coverage)

 

• No partial entry fees will be accepted

 
• Etransfer funds to admin@kingsofthehill.ca (Password: Your Team Name and phone number with no spaces)

 
If you do not have online banking, you need to get out of the stone ages! But can drop cash off at the event site any week to Challenge Director. Only Full payment will be accepted.

 

•   A player may only be added to one registered team at a time. However that player may join a new team once they have been eliminated from the challenge

• Q1 Billiards – Richmond

• Metro Billiards – Vancouver

If the registered teams list grows significantly, the event may be changed to weekly. Venue may change based on organizer’s discretion and/or availability

Payout:

Payouts will be made at the end of each night either by ETransfer or cash

IMPORTANT: Please note that half of entry money $300 ($350 – $50 admin) will be withheld each week for the following week’s entry for the reigning kings.

•  When playing 9-ball a 9 off the break is NOT a win.
•  Coaching is not permitted
•  Lag for break
